Rest in peace, vagina tattoo.
On Monday, April 6, singer and actress Demi Lovato revealed her newest tattoo to her 12 million Instagram fans: a rose on her left forearm. The new ink covers up an older tattoo of a pair of lips that regrettably resembled another body part.
“Bye bye (kiss emoji) and hello (rose emoji)… Thank you SO MUCH to my brother @GEESPOTAT2… It looks beaaauutiful and I LOVE it!! #RIPvaginatattoo #kidsdontdodrugs,” Lovato captioned her photo of the tattoo.
According to an April 8 United Press International article, Lovato first teased an image of the tattoo on April 1, insisting the work-in-progress was not an April Fool’s joke.
More than 20% of adults have at least one tattoo, and Lovato, 22, is no exception, who has gotten inked several times over the years. All told, this will be Lovato’s 15th tattoo, according to MTV news.
The rose now sits below a tattoo that says “stay” on her wrist, a tattoo that Lovato said was a thank-you gesture to the friends and family who helped her as she sought treatment for drug abuse and mental illness a few years ago; the word “strong” is tattooed on her other wrist. She also has a flock of 12 birds inked on her right forearm, a symbol of her faith, ABP Live reported.
Currently, the former Disney star is touring Australia in support of her 2013 album “Demi.” She also recently held a benefit concert for her charity, the Lovato Treatment Scholarship, which helps individuals with addiction or mental health issues afford the treatment they need.
