received the award during a special luncheon at the W Hollywood Hotel.
The actor said he’s been blessed to work in different media, from the
stage and television to films and voice acting.
“I’ve been fortunate to just been able to make a living as an
entertainer,” Mantegna said. “It’s too late for me to play left field for the
Cubs, so this is it.”
The 66-year-old Chicago native said he sometimes wonders where time went.
“I can remember fondly trying out for plays as a teenager in plays in
high school and yet here I am getting a lifetime achievement award in
Hollywood,” Mantegna said with a laugh.
Mantegna stars as FBI agent David Rossi on the CBS show “Criminal
Minds,” which is in its ninth season.
He also hosts and produces the Outdoor Channel’s “Midway USA’s Gun
Stories.” Mantegna also has upcoming roles in the films “Compulsion” and
“The Bronx Bull,” according to Daily Variety.
