LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Los Angeles Lakers players Nick Young and Kent
Bazemore leant a hand to Delta Air Lines flight attendants today to create
custom food packages from donated goods at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
“I am not too far removed from a situation like this so I think them
seeing me on TV playing hard in the NBA and then coming in and putting myself
in this situation to give back, it means a lot to them,” Bazemore said.
Bazemore said helping others feels good.
“We are looked at like we are some supernatural beings when we are out
on the court, but it is good to step outside of that realm and just give back
to the community,” Bazemore said.
The Laker players were joined by 85 volunteers who packaged food that
will be distributed to families in need in Los Angeles, organizers said.
“Where I came from in my community, I have seen a lot of struggle,”
