LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks will
appear on the “The Bold and the Beautiful” as part of an effort to draw
attention to pets in local shelters that need adopting.
The cameo features Parks, who was on the set today, explaining why
adopting animals from local shelters is important to the show’s characters,
Liam Spencer and Hope Logan.
“They want to highlight what is the best way to deal with animal
services,” Parks said.
Parks appeared in an episode of “Girlfriends” when he was chief of
police and, in 1998,  was named one of People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful
People.

The episodes are set to air at 12:30 p.m. April 30 and May 1-2 on KCBS
Channel 2.
The South Los Angeles Animal Shelter at 1850 W. 60th St. opened in April
2013. A new annex next to the shelter will serve as an evacuation area for
animals in emergencies.
